The parish is linked with two parishes in the UK. Here is a picture of Rev Ezereda Chipanha, meeting Rev Jenny Warrington (left), from St Paul with All Saints, Chatham, in the Diocese of Rochester, and Rev Andrea Leonard (right) of Christ Church in Luton, when they visited the parish in April 2024.
Community development
Humekwa Parish is one of seventeen parishes in the diocese, taking part in the Church and Community Mobilization Programme. The CCMP is a Bible-based, guided training approach that a local church can use with its community to identify the resources they have, then, working together, bring about long-lasting, whole-life change.
As local communities work through the process, they decide which activities will bring about the most effective and positive outcomes for them, given their current situations. The pictures below show the training on climate-smart agriculture being put into practice, and a self-help group called 'The CCMP Courage Group', formed to help members save money together, so that they can take out affordable loans, to invest in farming activities or to start small businesses. The parish has also shared the training with other denominations and sects, with the aim of building relationships and working together on shared community development projects.
