Clergy Motorbikes

20160303153536Kondoa Diocese covers a very large area and the roads are mostly untarmacked. It is not easy for the clergy to get around and so the Diocese is seeking sponsors for motorbikes at the cost of approx 2,100,000 Tanzanian Shillings each.

To date, linked parishes in the Rochester Diocese (UK) are working on purchasing motorbikes for the eight Area Deans.  Further funding is being sought for motorbikes for the pastors and evangelists

The project has got off to a good start with the purchase of three smart new motorbikes for Area Deans covering Mwailanje, Bereko and Chemba deaneries in March 2016, which have been very quickly put to good use!  Two further motorbikes have been purchased in March 2017 for ther Area Deans in Mpendo and Itolwa, with grateful thanks to thier link parishes at Chevening Church and St John's Meopham with St Mildred's, Nurstead.

Bishop Given said: "We are so happy for the motorbikes we will be having a special service to celebrate this special gift from our very dear friends in Rochester".

The funding parishes were St Augustine, Bromley; St Michael and All Angels, Wilmington, Christchurch, Bexleyheath and St Andrew's, Paddock Wood.
