Five new Canons of Kondoa Cathedral
We are delighted to announce that there are now five new Canons of Kondoa Cathedral. They were honoured with these roles at a wonderful service in the Cathedral on 6 August 2023, which lasted nearly six hours and was greatly enhanced by the worship from six choirs. The former Archbishop of Tanzania, Donald Leo Mtetemela, preached powerfully on the role of Canons within the church. His words are here in Swahili and English
The new Canons are, from left to right:
-
Canon Jacob Letema, Diocesan Finance Officer, in recognition of his long and faithful service to the Diocese, in particular its financial stability
-
Ann Pope, Rochester Diocese, supporter of women's projects in Kondoa, in recognition of her support for the Diocese over many years and in particular women's projects
-
Nigel Pope, Treasurer, Kondoa Companionship Group, Rochester Diocese, in recognition of his hard work and service over many years in support of the Diocesan link between Kondoa and Rochester and for the core work of the Diocese
-
Rev'd Canon Philemon Chiloleti, Diocesan General Secretary, in recognition of his faithful service to the Kondoa Bible College and the Diocese
-
Job Daudi Masima, former Tanzanian Ambassador to Israel, in recognition of his faithful service to the Diocese
