Today Bishop Given has returned from four days of confirmation and pastoral visitations in Makorongo Deanery. He has been in five parishes: Wekense, Masimba, Farkwa, Rofati and Gwandi. Tomorrow the Bishop will finish his visitations in the Deanery at Humekwa and Makorongo parishes. The Bishop says:
'One experience was I was invited to stay to a Masai Boma of Mzee Msando! Msando is old perhaps 87 years old at Rofati Parish. He has 18 wives with 128 children! He has brought all the children into the Church. I asked him if he real knows all the children and he told me he knows all the number of the chidren. I noted when one of the chidren came he asked whose mother name was. He cannot remember the name of her mother though he knows she is number 8 wife. He was full of joy! Of around 400 people who came to the service half of them were Masai from his Boma. You can see they formed a choir specific for the Bishop!'
Let's pray for God to bless and protect all who have been confirmed in the Makorongo Deanery. Also for God to bless Bishop Given and his staff team, giving them safe travels, good health and the strength to maintain this very busy schedule. Some more pictures from the services:
