Historical ordination service 16 June 2019

Guests from the national and regional government and around the world joined us for the ordination of eleven deacons and priests. 

The day was an especial blessing for our Diocese because for the first time, four women were priested.  Three had graduated from Kondoa Theologcal College and one is a tutor here.

Rev Francine Thomas, a good friend of Kondoa from the US, was also ordained as a deacon.  She said that she would not have wanted to be ordained anywhere else than with her brothers and sisters in Kondoa.

Bishop James of Rochester, UK,one of our two companion Dioceses, joined Bishop Given in leading the service.  Other guests were from the parish of South Gillingham, (Rochester Diocese), Virginia Diocese, US, and the Church of the Good Samaritan, Knoxville (East Tennessee Diocese).  East Tennessee is lso linked with Kondoa from February this year.

Mwenyezi Mungu, uliyeamuru daraja mbalimbali za wahudumu katika Kanisa lako, ukawaongoza Mitume wako wamchague Stefano Mtakatifu, shahidi wa kwanza kwa daraja la Ushemasi pamoja na wengine, Uwaangalie kwa rehema hawa watumishi wako wanaoitwa sasa kwa daraja na huduma hiyo hiyo.  Uwajaze kweli ya elimu yako, uwapambe maisha safi ili wapate kukutumikia kwa uaminifu kwa maneno na kielelezo chema, Jina lako litukuzwe, Kanisa lako lijengwe.  Kwa Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo Mwana wako, aishiye na kumiliki pamoja nawe, katika umoja wa Roho Mtakatifu,
Mungu daima, milele na milele.  Amin.
